Dwayne Johnson recently opened up about a health scare he faced, which he kept secret from everyone, including his wife, Lauren Hashian.
In an interview with Esquire, the 54-year-old actor shared that he discovered a lump on his testicles while showering, which was painful to the touch.
Three days later, he consulted a doctor who initially suggested he might have epididymitis—an inflammation of the tube at the back of the testicle that stores sperm.
However, the medical team also cautioned him about the possibility of cancer, urging him to undergo an immediate ultrasound. Unfortunately, Johnson couldn’t fit the test into his schedule as he was fully booked with promotional commitments for his upcoming “Jumanji” film.
Reflecting on the experience, Johnson told Esquire, “I had to endure those twenty-four hours of uncertainty while being in the public eye all day, cracking jokes and delivering speeches.”
The former WWE star noted he “didn’t even tell” Hashian, 41, about the health scare.
“I didn’t want to worry her before I knew if it was anything to even worry about,” Johnson explained.
Johnson has been married to Hashian since 2019. They share daughters Jasmine, 10, and Tiana, 8, while Johnson is also dad to daughter Simone, 24, from his previous marriage to Dany Garcia.
The “Smashing Machine” star confirmed he’s “fine” now after the scare.
“But I didn’t know that then,” he said, “and the thing was really painful.”
Elsewhere in the interview, Johnson admitted he uses ChatGPT to help him with his intense workouts.
“Within three seconds it comes back with a training program that’s lights-out, pencils-down spectacular,” he said. “Like it came from ten of the greatest coaches I’ve ever worked with.”
Johnson said the “very specific” exercise plan for ChatGPT led to him “having an extraordinary f—king workout.”
